This Privacy Policy explains how ConsumerSun.com, owned and operated by Cloudalien Technologies LLC ("we", "our", "us"), collects, uses and protects information about you, and what rights you have over it.

Information we collect

Information you give us. If you contact us through the site we collect the name, email address and message you submit, so we can reply. We do not require you to create an account and we do not sell products directly, so we do not collect payment details.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites we record technical information about your visit: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device and screen characteristics, referring page, the pages you view, and the dates and times of those visits.

Cookies and similar technologies. We and our providers use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember preferences, understand which articles are read, and — where affiliate programmes use them — to attribute a purchase you make after following a link from this site. Affiliate attribution cookies are set by the retailer, not by us, and are governed by that retailer's own privacy policy. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; parts of the site may not work as well if you do.

Sensitive information. We do not ask for, and ask that you do not send us, health information about yourself. Articles on this site discuss health topics; reading them tells us nothing about your health, and we do not build health profiles of readers.

Where the law requires a lawful basis, ours are our legitimate interest in running and improving the site, your consent where you have given it, and compliance with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined by California law.

Who we share it with

Service providers who host the site, deliver its images, and provide analytics and email delivery, acting on our instructions. Retailers and affiliate networks receive the fact that a visit came from this site when you follow an affiliate link. We also disclose information where we are legally required to, or to protect our rights.

How long we keep it

Messages you send us are kept for as long as needed to deal with them and for our records, and then deleted. Technical and analytics records are kept in aggregated or shortened form. Where a provider retains logs on our behalf, they are kept for that provider's standard retention period and then deleted.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to obtain a copy of it, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to limit how sensitive information is used, to opt out of sale or sharing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. Residents of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom additionally have the right to object to processing, to portability, and to complain to their data protection authority.

We honour Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out of sale and sharing.

To exercise any right, write to [email protected]. We will verify your request against information we already hold before acting on it, and respond within the period the applicable law requires. An authorised agent may make a request on your behalf with written permission.

International visitors

The site is operated from the United States and information is processed there. If you are visiting from another country, you are sending information to a jurisdiction whose data protection laws may differ from your own.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
